Billing Information
Why are
you billing?
Over
the years, donations from the public have dwindled to nearly nothing. Meanwhile, the cost of providing patient
care, maintenance of vehicles and supplies, and insurance for our volunteers
has progressively gotten larger.
Therefore, we decided to start billing insurance companies. While this has helped tremendously in
recovering the cost of transport, it is usually only enough to replace the
equipment used. For this reason, we
also still rely heavily on donations and fundraisers so that we may buy new
equipment.
Are you
still volunteer?
Without a doubt! We volunteer our time to make sure this area
has access to emergency medical care, and search/rescue services. None of our members are paid in any way.
What if I can’t afford to pay?
Although we bill insurance companies,
we do not require our patients to pay their bill. We decided it was in the best interest of everyone to continue
providing this service FREE to citizens of our jurisdiction. If you receive a bill for the remaining amount
that insurance didn’t cover, THROW IT AWAY!
You NEVER have to pay! But if
you want to, by all means, do so!
